Call for Nominations for the Global Solar Leaders Award

The “Global Solar Leaders Award” is presented by the Global Green Energy Industry Council, the Global Solar Council, the New Energy Industry Association for Asia and the Pacific, and the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association, in collaboration with the industrial organizations, academic institutions and media, to recognize worldwide leaders who have continued to lead the development or technological advancement of the photovoltaic industry and have made outstanding contributions in the progress.

 

The year of 2004, when Germany introduced the Renewable Energy Act and the global photovoltaic industry showed a strong development momentum, became a landmark starting point for the development of the industry. Over the past 20 years, the global photovoltaic communities have spared no effort to promote industrial development and technological innovation and have made great contributions to promote the photovoltaic industry from relying on governmental incentives to be market oriented. With the goal of "carbon neutrality" proposed in 2021, the photovoltaic industry has become the key industry to promote the global energy transition and build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient modern energy system. Against this backdrop, the "Global Solar Leaders" election activity of recognizing outstanding contributors from the photovoltaic organizations/associations, industrial corporates, academia/research institutes and media is of great significance to encourage in-depth research and improvement of photovoltaic technology, and to promote the development of the photovoltaic industry as well as the global energy revolution.

 

The Awarding Ceremony for the “Global Solar Leaders” will be scheduled during the “SNEC PV+ 17th (2024) International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition” (referred to as “SNEC PV+”), taking place in Shanghai, China from June 11th to 15th, 2024, to salute the global photovoltaic outstanding contributors!

 

We warmly welcome those who have contributed to the development of the photovoltaic industry to actively participate in the selection. Let us work together to provide the planet with better prospects.

 

Annex 1: The selection details

 

I. Scope for the Selection:

(1) Individuals from organizations / associations

(2) Individuals from photovoltaic industrial corporates

(3) Individuals from photovoltaic academic / research institutes

(4) Individuals from media

 

II. Selection Criteria:

Individuals who have been continuously involved in the photovoltaic industry no less than 20 years and have made outstanding contributions to the development of the photovoltaic industry and technological advancements.

 

III. Procedure:

(1) Nomination (self-nomination or nomination by others)

(2) Reviewing

(3) Awarding

 

IV. Submission of Nominations:

Nominations should be submitted by May 10, 2024:

(1) A completed nomination form as required (Annex 2)

(2) A high-resolution photo of the Award nominee (requirements as in the Annex 2)

(3) A video recorded by the Award nominee, with the nomination citation (requirements as in the Annex 2)

 

V. Other Instructions:

(1) In order to ensure the transparency and fairness of the selection, each nominee or referrer must ensure the authenticity of the submitted materials.

(2) In order to reduce unnecessary duplication of selection work, each nominee or referrer should submit the materials according to the requirements.

(3) The activity is based on the principle of voluntary participation, and the final interpretation of this selection is reserved by the Organizers.
