Welcome to the Position Paper section of the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA).

This section features APVIA's official positions, policy recommendations, and calls to action on critical issues shaping the solar and energy storage industry across Asia and beyond. As a representative body of national solar associations in the Asian region, APVIA closely monitors key areas such as energy transition, market mechanisms, technology pathways, and supply chain resilience. Through this section, we deliver clear, professional, and constructive perspectives to governments, international organizations, industry partners, and the public.

Each position paper is grounded in robust industry data, regional development realities, and technology trends. Our goal is to inform policy-making, guide industry collaboration, and contribute to a sustainable, low-carbon, and highly resilient energy future for Asia and the world.

Solar and Storage Technology: The Solution for Oil Price Volatility

The APVIA, comprising national solar associations in the Asian region, calls for a rapid and systematic deployment of solar technology paired with battery storage solutions. Adopting this path of increasing and accelerated solar penetration in the grid and electricity network, especially installing solar on residential and industrial rooftops, must be at the center of government and community responses to the oil crisis. Decentralizing power generation and utilizing indigenous solar resources, allows emerging economies to mitigate the inflationary pressures of imported fuel, reduce the current account deficit, and enhance the resilience of both household, commercial and industrial sectors.
