Mexico City, Mexico (August, 2018).- The German-Mexican Energy Partnership, created in 2016 between the governments, have become strategic partners for next year´s Solar Power Mexico (SPM), the first international solar energy fair in Mexico. Taking place at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City from March 19-21, 2019, SPM will bring together more than 100 companies from Europe, the United States, China, and Latin America to exhibit the most advanced technology in the sector worldwide.
Solar Power Mexico, organized by three leading trade show and event companies from around the world, Deutsche Messe (Germany), SNEC PV Power Expo (China), and Solar Power International (USA), joined forces to help advance the solar energy market in Mexico.
On April 2016, Sigmar Gabriel, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, along with Mexico’s Minister of Energy, Pedro Joaquín Coldwell, signed a Declaration of Intent, which launched the German-Mexican Energy Partnership whose working group promotes bilateral cooperation in support of the transformation of energy systems
The Mexican-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Camexa), will be another partner, along with Galo Energy, a Mexico City-based consulting firm with more than 50 years’ experience in business development, public/government relations, financial structuring, regulatory and policy analysis.
Spokesperson of the event in Mexico, Sarah Möller, said that further agreements regarding SPM´s strategic partnerships have been reached by different Mexican-German organizations, including GIZ (German Association for International Cooperation), which advises the Mexican Government on behalf of the German Federal Government.
Solar Power Mexico will be the first B2B exhibition and conference of the solar energy sector in the country, said Möller. In addition to offering a wide range of photovoltaic solar energy products, the fair will also exhibit the best in solar thermal energy, storage, power generation by independent producers, supply and management of smart power grids, among others, she said. Visitors will be able to compare products from three continents: America, Asia and Europe. Also, they will count on professional and international conference and seminar programs.
STRONG INDUSTRY PARTNERS
Deutsche Messe organizes the world’s leading industrial fair, Hannover Messe, and is one of the top event organizers worldwide, attracting exhibitors and visitors alike since 1947. It currently manages 130 fairs attended by 3.5 million visitors and 40,000 exhibitors, being a leader in this sector globally. Its name is a guarantee for success. In Mexico, it operates as Hannover Fairs Mexico, its subsidiary.
Benjamin Low, Global Energy Director of Deutsche Messe AG, said that the company chose “the ideal time for the first event because Mexico’s solar industry expects constant growth over the next decade.”
“In addition, Mexico’s energy policy is focused on strengthening renewable energies in general and solar energy,” he added.
Deutsche Messe also organizes CanWEA, Canada’s largest and most important exhibition of wind energy, which is the international meeting point for the hydrogen and fuel cell sector in the United States.
Another organizer of the Mexican event is SNEC PV Power Expo, the largest photovoltaic trade fair in the world held in Shanghai, China, with 200,000 m2, that attracted more than 2,000 exhibitors from 95 countries and regions around the world in 2018. The event is jointly organized by 23 international associations and organizations including the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).
The event will also be organized by Solar Power International (SPI) the largest solar energy trade fair in North America, with more than 20,000 visitors and 700 exhibitors who come together to meet, make and grow their businesses. SPI is an event that is organized simultaneously with Energy Storage International (ESI), the largest energy storage event in North America. These events are carried out by two leading energy associations, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA).
